- Take For the cake
- Take 2 2/3 cup All Purpose Flour or Maida
- Provide 2 tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- Provide 1 tsp Baking soda

- Use Red & green food colour gel 1 – 2 tsp

- Take 500gm Cream Cheese (room temperature)
- Get 1 1/4 cup Powdered Sugar sifted
- Prepare 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
- Get 1 1/3 cup Whipping Cream (chilled)
Instructions to make Red & Green Velvet Cake:
- To bake the cake
- Sift all the dry ingredients. Mix well. Keep it aside. - In a dip mixing bowl, place butter and sugar, beat until combined.
- Add one egg at a time and beat well. - Add all the liquid ingredients one at a time and beat well after each addition.
- Add the dry ingredients little at a time and beat well. Divide the batter equally in to two different bowls. - Add green food gel in one bowl and add red food gel in another bowl.
- Mix well until combined.
- Grease two 9- inch pans and pour red batter in one pan and the green pan in another pan. - Smoothen the top and tap the pan. - Per-heat the oven to 180 degree C. - Bake the cakes for 30 mins or until it’s done.
- Remove from the pan and allow it to cool completely
- To Frost
- Beat the cream until thick and fluffy.(Do not over beat) - Add in the cream cheese and the powdered sugar and beat well. - Add the vanilla essence and beat until smooth.
- To Assemble
- Slice a thin layer off the top of the cake to create a flat surface. - In a plate, apply little frosting in the middle and place one cake. - You can add sugar syrup on the top of the cake, if adding.
- Use about 1 cup of frosting to fill the bottom cake layer then place the other cake on the top. Add the sugar syrup. - Use the rest of the Frosting to ice the whole cake. - Decorate the cake as you desire.
- Cut, serve and enjoy!!!
- NOTE - You can add either red or green food colour to the whole batter. - And bake red or green velvet cake. - This was my christmas feast cake..so I used both green and red food colour gel.
