- Use frozen Raw Tiger Prawns
- Take Tinned Pineapple in juice
- Prepare Basmati Rice
- You need Garlic Butter
- Provide Cooking Oil
Instructions to make Prawn and Pineapple Basmati Rice:
- Put the cooking oil, butter and the prawns into a large wok or saucepan. Bring up the heat gently to thaw out and start to cook the prawns.
- Once the Prawns turn from blue to pink, add the rinsed Basmati Rice, and the contents, including the juice, from the tin of Pineapple. Stir well and heat until bubbling.
- Giving an occasional stir, keep cooking until all the liquid has been absorbed by the rice and everything is nice and “ sticky”. Can be eaten hot or cold!!
Soaking the basmati rice before cooking makes all the difference. Serve with your favorite Indian curry or dal (lentils). Make sure you warn people not to bite into the whole spices! I used peanuts instead of cashews. I didn't have brown rice and used basmati instead.
