Until fairly recently any individual who indicated concern about the destruction of the environment raised skeptical eyebrows. That has completely changed now, since we all seem to have an awareness that the planet is having problems, and we all have a part to play in fixing it. According to the industry experts, to clean up the natural environment we are all going to have to make some changes. This needs to happen soon and living in methods more friendly to the environment should become a mission for every individual family. The kitchen is a good place to begin saving energy by going more green.

Start with changing the bulbs. Complete this for the whole house, not just the kitchen. The normal light bulbs are the incandescent style, which must be replaced with compact fluorescent lightbulbs, which save energy. They cost a little bit more initially, but they last ten times longer, and use a lesser amount of electricity. One of the advantages is that for every one of these lightbulbs used, it means that approximately ten normal lightbulbs less will end up at a landfill site. You also have to obtain the routine of turning off the lights when there is nobody in a area. The family spends considerable time in the kitchen, and how often does the kitchen light go on in the morning and is left on all day long. This additionally happens in the rest of the house, but we are trying to save money in the kitchen. Try keeping the lights off if you don’t absolutely need them, and see exactly how much electricity you can save.

From the above it should be obvious that just in the kitchen, by itself, there are numerous little opportunities for saving energy and money. It is quite straightforward to live green, all things considered. Typically, all it requires is a little common sense.

  2. Use 1/4 cup sugar
  3. Provide 2 1/4 tsps instant yeast
  4. Use 1/4 tsp salt
  5. You need 2/3 cups warm milk
  6. Use 3 tbsps melted butter
  7. Get 2 egg yolks
  8. You need 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions to make Baked Choco Peanut Butter-Filled Donuts🥯:
  1. Melt your butter over boiling water
  2. Sift 1 cup of flour and whisk with sugar, yeast and salt
  3. Add the warm milk, melted butter, yolks and vanilla, and stir. Don't throw the egg whites away! Check out my Simple Fried Egg-Whites recipe for what you can do with them - (see recipe)
  4. Cover with cling film for about 10 minutes or until some bubbles form on the surface
  5. Add the remaining 1 1/2 cups of flour and mix with a spatula till the dough forms and doesn't stick to the bowl. If the dough still sticks, add a little flour to it and knead for about 5 minutes or until it no longer sticks. Avoid adding too much flour to knead. Your dough should be soft and smooth at the end of the kneading
  6. LIGHTLY grease your dough and bowl with vegetable. This will keep it from drying out. Cover with a cling film for about 45 minutes (depending on how hot your kitchen is) or till the dough doubles in size
  7. Dust your work surface with flour and transfer the dough to it. Dust the top of the dough with flour and flatten it with a rolling pin/bottle till it's about 1/2 an inch thick
  8. Using a round cookie cutter or any round object (preferably measuring cup), cut your dough into your preferred sizes. You can re-work any extra piece of dough and cut more pieces out of it
  9. Transfer your cut dough to a lined baking tray and evenly space them
  10. Cover the dough with a tea towel for 45 minutes to puff up
  11. Bake in the centre of the oven at 300 - 350 ° F for about 10 minutes or till they're lightly golden on the outside
  12. Fresh out the oven, coat them with some melted butter. This keeps the outer crust soft. You can dust them with some sugar after. I wanted to keep the sugar on the low, so I didn't
  13. Using a small knife, make a hole in the side of the donuts and fill them with chocolate peanut butter (check out my Homemade Nutella recipe). You can use a piping bag - (see recipe)
  14. And nibble away!!!!
